HARRISON COUNTY (GG) — Tropical Storm Francine was officially named Monday, September 9, 2024, and Harrison County is under a Local Proclamation of Emergency. A storm surge watch and a flood watch are currently in effect for Harrison County, including the cities of Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Long Beach, and Pass Christian

Harrison County Emergency Management is urging residents to prepare for potential impacts from the storm, including heavy rain, flooding and storm surge

To help residents prepare, Harrison County will open several selfserve sandbag sites starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  Bags and sand will be provided, but residents are required to bring their own shovels and fill the bags themselves

Harrison County residents are strongly encouraged to take these warning signs seriously, prepare accordingly, and stay informed as the situation develops.
