LONG BEACH (GG) — On Tuesday night, September 3, 2024 at Long Beach City Hall, the Board of Aldermen and Mayor George Bass presented Long Beach Police Officer Amanda Branning with a proclamation recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Mayor Bass will be in attendance at St. Baldrick’s Foundation event, on September 21st at Jones Park/Barksdale Pavilion in Gulfport to shave his head in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness. Following the presentation, a public hearing was given to receive public input on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2024-25 and was then called to order.

The Long Beach Certified Financial Officer (CFO) & Deputy City Clerk Kini Gonsoulin reported that, pursuant to the certain order followed by the Mayor & Board of Aldermen on June 18, 2024, the public hearing was published in The Gazebo Gazette (the newspaper on record for Long Beach and Harrison County) and was evidenced by the notarized proof of publication.

Only one resident spoke of the proposed budget followed by Mayor Bass announcing that the FY 2024-25 budget would be adopted at the meeting Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Long Beach City Hall.
