LONG BEACH (GG) — Long Beach announces the addition of a new fire engine Tuesday, April 7 to the Long Beach Fire Department’s fleet, strengthening the City’s commitment to protecting residents, businesses, and visitors.
The new fire engine is designed to improve emergency response capabilities, providing increased pumping power, enhanced reliability, and modern equipment to support firefighters in a wide range of emergency situations. The investment ensures that the Long Beach Fire Department remains equipped with the tools necessary to respond quickly and effectively when seconds matter most.
The addition of this new engine is significant as it modernizes the department’s fleet, which currently includes fire engines from 1999, 2000, and 2013. Updating equipment is critical to maintaining dependable service and ensuring firefighter safety.
“This new fire engine represents an important investment in the safety of our community,” said Long Beach Mayor Tim Pierce. “We are committed to providing our first responders with the resources they need to serve and protect Long Beach at the highest level.”
The public is invited to view the new fire engine 4:30pm Tuesday afternoon at City Hall, prior to the Long Beach Board of Aldermen meeting. Residents will have the opportunity to see the new engine up close and meet members of the Fire Department.
Firefighters will spend the coming weeks training on the new equipment to ensure seamless integration into daily operations. Once fully in service, the engine will play a vital role in emergency response efforts throughout the city.
