MOBILE (GG) –The Saint Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaws (1-4) traveled east to Mobile to take on the Leopards of Mobile Christian on Friday evening. It would be a long ride back home for the Rocks as they suffered a 52-0 setback to Mobile Christian. It marked the first time that the Rocks had been shutout in consecutive games since 2001.

The Leopards started out scoring and did not hold back all game as the starters remained in the lineup until the final second clicked off the clock.
Landon Stewart tossed a 12-yard scoring pass to Xavier Harris with 9:15 left in the first quarter. Carter Lewis converted the PAT to make the score 7-0.
Three minutes later, the Leopards scored again when Stewart tossed a 65-yard scoring pass to Ladouglas Jones Jr. and Lewis missed the PAT to leave the score at 13-0.
Less than a minute later, the Leopards defense recorded a team safety against the Rocks to make the score 15-0. Following the ensuing kickoff, the Leopards whipped a 68-yard scoring aerial from Israel Benard to Aiden Gaston with 3:35 left in the opening quarter. Lewis’ PAT was good making the score 22-0.
Then, with less than a minute remaining in the opening quarter, Benard threw a 34-yard scoring pass to Sema’j Law. A two-point conversion failed leaving the score 28-0.
Law scored on a one-yard run with 9:08 left in the second quarter and Lewis made the PAT and a 41-yard field goal with six seconds left in the first half to make the score 38-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Benard hit Gaston with a 55-yard touchdown pass with 8:16 left in the third quarter. Shelton Boatman converted on the PAT to make the score 45-0.
The final score happened with 10:41 left in the game when Benard tossed a nine-yard pass Demarrion Gaston. Boatman made good on the PAT to make the final score 52-0.
SSC head coach Tate Thigpen commented, “The result on the scoreboard is bad. Losing is bad. But, when I took this job we said we are building a program not a team. Lots of our young players got lots of snaps which is a good thing for the future. We are focused on getting ready for our division schedule coming up.”
The Leopards held the Rocks to just four first downs in the game and two yards rushing on 27 carries and 75 yards passing on just five completions. The Leopards were held to 35 yards rushing but passed for 304 yards and 6 touchdowns on 13-for-16 passing.
The Rocks return home ‘between the walls’ at the Brother Philip Memorial Athletic Complex this week for Homecoming against Stone on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
