PEARL (GG) — The Pass Christian Pirates swept a pair of third place team finishes at the MHSAA Class 4A state track and field meet held at Pearl High School on Monday, May 12, after the meet was postponed twice due to inclement weather.
The Lady Pirates scored 82 points to place third out of 24 teams behind champion Senatobia with 114.83 points.
The Lady Pirates were led by the 4x100m relay team that won the event in 48.19 seconds which set a new class record.
The 4x200m relay team placed second with a time of 1:44.57 and the 4x400m relay team was third with a time of 4:16.07.
The 4x800m relay team placed sixth with a time of 11:38.90.
In field events, the Lady Pirates were led by Madison Jacobs in second place with a personal best leap of 36′ 6″ followed by teammate Takiya Tyson with a leap of 35′ 9″ which was fourth place. Khloee Vinsonhaler took fifth in the high jump with a height of 4′ 8.”
Maleygh Acker was fifth in long jump with a leap of 16′ 1 1/2.”
On the track, Anaya Bradley took third in the 100m with a time of 12.44 and Harmony Walker was fourth in 12.47.
In the 200m, Bradley was second in 25.63 and Walker was third in 25.64.
In the 400m, Kailey Taylor was fifth in 1:02.21 and Hailey Lebeau was seventh in 1:05.35. Taylor finished seventh in the 800m in 2:50.76.
In the boys’ division, the Pirates scored 84 points to place third behind champion Senatobia with 120.5.
The Pirates were led by the 4x800m relay that won gold in a class record time of 8:23.79 and the 4x400m relay that won gold in 3:25.59.
Erik Lindmark won the 800m in class record time of 2:00.36 and Ollie Bailey who was second in 2:02.52.
Tristin Jones placed fifth in the 400m in 50.79 and Bailey placed seventh in the 1600m in 5:02.87.
Noah Campbell was seventh in the 3200m in 11:10.84 and Brennan Davis was eighth in 11:19.30.
Belt placed seventh in the 110m hurdles in 18.40.
Grant Akers won the pole vault with a leap of 12′ 1″ followed by Nolan Akers in third place with 11′.
Paris Trivillion took third place in the long jump with a leap of 21′ 2 1/2 and Samuel King was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 44′ 4.” Kenneth Dalcour was sixth in discus with a distance of 130′ 9.”
Pass Christian head coach Roscoe Forch stated, “This has been a historic season again for us, as we were the best team in Class 4A South, sweeping Region, Super Region and South State on both sides. Although State did not go as planned, we are already getting prepared for a possible run at Adidas Outdoor Nationals, and are ready to make another State run next season.”
