COLUMBIA (GG) — Every great story has an end; sometimes it’s the ending you want or the ending you deserve. And sometimes, it’s just the ending you get.

After an historic 2025 season, the story came to an end for the Pass High Pirates on Friday, Nov. 21, in a 41-6 loss on the road at Columbia. The Wildcats proved to be too much for the Pirates, who kept the game to one score going into halftime.
The loss to Columbia in the third round of the playoffs is familiar territory for Pass High Coach Jeff Stockstill, who found himself in a similar situation in 2023. Stockstill said he has nothing but praise for his team, regardless of the season-ending loss.
“I’m very proud of our team especially our senior class,” Stockstill said. “This was a fun team to coach and we will all miss them. It’s an honor to be their coach and thankful for a lot of people who played a part in the success we achieved this season.”
The Pirates finish 11-2 for the year, the first time the school has had an 11-win season and the first time since 1975 they won 10 games. It’s also the first time Pass Christian was region champs.
“There are levels to high school football,” Stockstill said. “Our program has taken the right steps forward but unfortunately we ran into a team that plays on a level above us. I’m confident our program will not be deterred and we will continue to progress forward and compete in the highest level of football.”
The team was led offensively by junior quarterback Paris Trivillon, who averaged 86 yards rushing a game. The dual-threat quarterback passed for 119 yards with one touchdown in the loss at Columbia.
The win takes Columbia to 13-0. The Wildcats will face Poplarville Friday at 7 p.m. The winner will play for the 4A State Championship in Starkville.
HISTORICAL NOTES FOR PASS CHRISTIAN:
  • First Region Championship
  • Most Points Scored (504)
