GULFPORT (GG) — In their third matchup ever, the Gulfport Admirals (5-2, 3-0) rode through the eye of the storm past the West Harrison Hurricanes (6-2, 2-2) 42-14 Friday night, October 17, 2025.
The Admirals might be getting used to big wins as the team has won three contests by 28 points or more this season. Along with that, Gulfport is 4-0 on the road during the 2025 football season and won four consecutive games.
Gulfport had a senior duo take command as Running Back Cooper Crosby gained 167 total yards and three touchdowns while Quarterback Parker Nettles threw for 220 yards on 19-22 and three touchdowns while completing 86.4% of his passes. Crosby has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he’s played.
When it comes to explaining why West Harrison lost, don’t look at Jordan Stapleton who finished with 95 all purpose yard. Despite the final result, he rushed for 68 yards and one TD, and also caught one score.
This victory puts Gulfport in the drivers seat of their own destiny for the region title. With an undefeated record in region play, the Admirals need at least two more wins to lock up the #1 seed from Region 4-7A.
Gulfport will take on rival Biloxi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24 at the Joseph W. Milner Stadium for their annual homecoming. Meanwhile, West Harrison is set to host Ocean Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Admirals have gone 9-1 against the Indians recently and they’ll look to pad the win column further. In their 103rd overall matchup, Gulfport leads 63-35-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better. Everything went their way against Harrison Central on Friday as they made off with a 31-6 victory. The Indians have beaten the Red Rebels the last four times they’ve met.
This Friday’s matchup might be decided on the ground. Gulfport has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 169.9 rushing yards per game. However, it’s not like Biloxi struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging an even more impressive 161.9 rushing yards.
Gulfport strolled past Biloxi in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-7.
