PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — After opening bids for the Construction of the Beautification Building and elevating controls for the city lift stations project at the Pass Christian Municipal Court Tuesday, February 4, the Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a proposal from Election Systems & Software for election support services.  The company’s service would be $7650 for the primary, $6300 for the primary runoff (if needed), and $6300 for the general election.  This accumulates to $.29 for each regular ballot and $.36 for absentee ballots.

Additionally, the board adopted the resolution to request the Harrison County voting machines and other equipment for rent from the county election commission.  The city request will be for both the primary and general elections.

The Mississippi Secretary of State has released the dates for the 2025 municipal elections, which are:

  • April 1 – Primary Elections
  • April 15 – Primary Runoff Election
  • June 3 – General Election

Following a unanimous school board approval Tuesday, February 11, The Gazebo Gazette will host the municipal debate in the Pass Christian High School gymnasium Saturday, March 8 at 1pm.  This is for all municipal candidates and is open to the public.  The Pass Christian school board of trustees will not charge for the building use and have waived the insurance liability cost for the community.

As the meeting began, special recognition was given to long time Pass Christian resident and former business owner, Paul Ellis, who was recently awarded Outstanding Citizen of the Year at a Rotary Club event.  Pass Christian Fire Department Captain Andy Purchner was recognized as City Employee of the Year and Pass Christian High School History Teacher Andy Batten was acknowledged as the Teacher of the Year.
