PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — The Pass Christian School District announced an outstanding achievement: for the first time since 2013, all of its schools have earned an A state rating. The accomplishment places the district among the top ten districts in the state, ranking 6th out of 145.
Additionally, once again Pass Christian High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the state, earning a rank of 5th out of 232 high schools. The school also scored an all time high of 855 accountability points.
Joining the A-club this year, is Pass Christian Middle School. When Jedediah Mooney became the principal, he was given the charge to change the academic culture within the school. In concert with teachers and staff and a focus on relationships, the PCMS students were held to high expectations. When asked, both Dr. Beth Bellipanni, High School Principal, and Mooney credited the hard work of their teachers and students for their achievements.
Dr. Carla J. Evers, Superintendent of the Pass Christian School District, expressed her pride and gratitude: “The board and I are extremely proud of the work of our teachers, students, and administration. In our district, we believe that Pirates excel when learning is a shared responsibility. Thus, I would also like to thank our staff, parents, and community for their unwavering support. Pass Christian is a special place where the education of our children is a top priority, which is evidenced by our continued improvement and success. Congratulations, Pirate Nation!”
To celebrate this significant achievement, the district will host a district-wide academic pep rally on October 4 for 3rd through 12th grade students. The event will feature a special guest who will help present various awards to honor the hard work and dedication of students and teachers.
