PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — On Saturday, May 24th, it rained dogs during the annual Bacchus Block Pawty in Pass Christian. Finally, after the event was rescheduled due to the weather, howl yeah!

A festival for our furry friends to enjoy, and for the pups of Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi to reap the benefits, with 100% of proceeds going towards the organization, and featuring various “adopt me” flyers.

Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue organization that operates as a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Their mission is to offer care, love, and medical treatment to abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs and cats, helping them heal and enrich their lives. From rubber duck basins to doggie pageants –yes, I am fur-real– the Pawty was tail wagging worthy, especially with the help of a live band.

Attending canines were in the presence of local Pup-stars, Pass Christian’s K9 officer Scout and Chief Freeman.  A species-inclusive event with corn hole, local apparel popup from Salty Kisses, and the captivating work of local sculptor Spencer Gray.

Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi Rescue Secretary Anne Williford beamed with joy, stating, “Despite the heat and the little rain intermission, it’s been a great turnout! The pets are playing, the kids are playing, and Bacchus is serving great food. The donations go to Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi and it helps us pay for food and vet bills so that we can find forever homes for these dogs. Hundreds of dogs have found their forever homes because of our dedication, hundreds of dogs.”
