LONG BEACH (GG) — On Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, the Long Beach Police Department arrested Hallis Wayne Russ Jr., of Vancleave and charged him with 1 count of Murder.
The arrest was the result of the investigation of a shooting that resulted in the death of Neville Conner on Allen Road in Long Beach, Thursday, July 2nd. The suspect was located and taken into custody at an address near Pat Eubanks Road in George County.
Russ was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held on a $1,000,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Theressia Lyons pending further court action.
Assisting in the investigation was Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, George County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Emergency Services Unit, and Mississippi Department of Homeland Security.
