BILOXI (GG) — #1 Major League Baseball (MLB) Prospect Jesús Made put together one of the greatest performances in Biloxi Shuckers franchise history in a 14-8 thriller to beat the Montgomery Biscuits (49-47, 14-13) on Friday at Keesler Federal Park. The 19-year old went 5-for-5, with 7 RBI, and 2 home runs, including an eighth inning grand slam. Jesus was the sixth Shucker in franchise history with a 5-hit game and the first since 2024.
The Shuckers didn’t score until the second, but went onto score six unanswered runs, including an Andrew Fischer home run in the second and a 2-RBI base knock by Fischer to follow in the third. Fischer’s round tripper represents his 34th between High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi, which ties Bill Foley (1978) 34 and Sixto Lezcano (1974) for 4th all-time amongst Brewers single-season Minor League home run leaders.
Biloxi continued to blossom its lead thanks to RBI doubles by Mike Boeve in the fourth and Blake Burke in the fifth, with Josh Adamczewski adding to the tally with a single in the same frame to make it 6-1.
Montgomery made a dent in the deficit with a run-scoring double by Mac Horvath in the sixth, but the Shuckers answered with back-to-back bombs in the bottom of the inning, off the bats of Jesús Made for a three-run homer and a Blake Burke solo shot, which made it 10-2. Burke blast was his 30th of the campaign, joining Fischer as the second Brewers minor league player since 2001 with a 30-home-run season.
Burke also became the 17th player to achieve the feat in Brewers minor league history, and the first Southern League player to achieve the feat since Adam Brett Walker (Chattanooga) in 2015 and the first 1st baseman to do it since Paul Goldschmidt (Mobile) in 2011.The Biscuits paved the way for a comeback in the eighth, scoring six runs to cut the deficit to two runs, thanks to a home run from Mac Horvath, a RBI base hit by Gregory Barrios, and a three-run jack from Austin Overn.
Made’s grand slam in the home half capped off his career-night, with 5-hits, 7 RBI, and 2 home runs.
Jesús Made, Blake Burke (2-for-5, 2rbi) and Andrew Fischer (2-for-5, 3rbi) accounted for 12 of the team’s 15 RBI, Josh Adamczewski (2-for-4) joining the bunch with one of the four multi-hit performances. Anthony Flores (5-1) flourished for his fifth win with the Shuckers, with Gary Gill Hill getting the loss and Edwin Jimenez (1.2ip, 0r, 3k) collecting his second save in a scoreless appearance.
The Shuckers have won back-to-back games and have a chance to take a series lead on Saturday at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi.
