PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — The annual Kids Fishing Rodeo was held this past Saturday on the east side of the Pass Christian Harbor. The free event is a wonderful opportunity for anglers of all ages to enjoy the Pass Christian Harbor and be a part of this community tradition.

Donuts and drinks were provided free of charge to keep the little ones happy while fishing gear was prepped, and hooks were baited. Fishing gear was not provided but free bags of shrimp were provided for bait by Bill Bradley of Bradley’s Seafood Company.

The Pass Christian Volunteer Fire Department invited families to come out for a day of fun, fishing, and a chance to make memories that will last a lifetime.

The fishing competition was open to kids from ages two to sixteen. The contest began at 8:00 a.m. and went on until 10:00 a.m. The award ceremony was held at 10:30 a.m. The winners were based on the total weight of everything they caught during the time allowed. Participants had to be in line with their catch by 10:00am to qualify.

Although not all participants caught a fish or made it to the winners’ circle, everyone there enjoyed the fresh air and the chance to reel in a winner.  To confirm the winners, check the City of Pass Christian Facebook Page, where results and event photos are posted after the annual event.
