Mary Ryan Brown Returns to the Mississippi Gulf Coast May 30

BILOXI (GG) — Rising standup comic and Hattiesburg native Mary Ryan Brown returns to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a show Saturday, May 30, at 7 p.m. at Sunkist Country Club in Biloxi. Tickets start at $35 and are available online at MaryRyanBrown.com. The show also features comedian Ben Compton and is hosted by Krangus Gillespie.

The May 30 show marks Brown’s first appearance on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since a July 26, 2025, show at The Loft in Bay St. Louis. It is one of several stops on her 2026 “Be Blessed Tour.”

Brown is well-known for her social media content, including characters such as “Southern Mom” and satirical portrayals of Southern cities like Ocean Springs, Fairhope, Alabama, and Nashville.

After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a master’s in creative writing, Brown taught high school English. She later left the classroom to spend more time with her family and to pursue her love for both writing and comedy.

I’m so happy I decided to become a stay-at-home mom,” Brown said in a previous interview with The Gazebo Gazette. “It’s been wonderful. We get to spend so much time together. I also do freelance work, creating web content for various companies. It’s been good to do that at my own pace.”

When not headlining the “Be Blessed Tour,” Brown has been touring the country with Laurel native and comic Landon Bryant on the “Southern Nights Comedy Tour.” Brown and Bryant have added additional summer dates, including shows in New York and New Jersey. A self-proclaimed student of comedy, Brown cites Dave Chappelle and Hannibal Buress among her influences for her live shows. However, she said her influences for her widely popular Instagram and TikTok reels are more personal.

“That voice comes from the people who raised me and who I am,” she said. “I monogram my kid’s clothes; I was in a sorority — I am very familiar with this world.”
