JACKSON (GG) — Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann has created a Senate Select Committee on Redistricting and Reapportionment following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais and Governor Tate Reeves’ decision to rescind the upcoming special session on Supreme Court redistricting.

“I have full confidence that this committee, led by Senator Dean Kirby, will meet in the coming months to gather information, review data, and evaluate potential future redistricting of congressional, legislative, and State Supreme Court districts in light of the Callais decision,” said Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann. “I look forward to reviewing the committee’s recommendations.”
The Senate Select Committee on Redistricting and Reapportionment will be chaired by Senator Dean Kirby (Pro Tempore). Membership includes Senators Briggs Hopson, Josh Harkins, Brice Wiggins, Jeremy England, Lane Taylor, Mike Thompson (Pass Christian, Long Beach, Gulfport), Daniel Sparks, Derrick Simmons, and Angela Turner Ford.
