PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — After a special called meeting by the Pass Christian School Board of Trustees Monday, April 20, 2026, Jessica Hayes was hired as the new Pass Christian High School Head Girls Basketball Coach. Coach Hayes leaves Baker High School in Alabama where she served as an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach and a Head Volleyball Coach.
Her previous coaching experience includes Pascagoula High School and Sacred Heart Catholic High School where she lead both girls basketball programs.
“Ms. Hayes understands what it means to be a scholar as she came highly recommended for both her teaching and coaching abilities,” said Pass Christian Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Jeff Stockstill. “We look forward to this new era of basketball, and we invite the community to join us in welcoming Coach Hayes to Pirate Nation!”
Hayes brings more than a decade of experience in education and athletics, along with a strong background in player development, program leadership, and academic support for student-athletes. A graduate of William Carey University, she earned both a Bachelor of General Studies and a Master of Education with a secondary emphasis while competing as a collegiate women’s basketball student-athlete.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Hayes to Pass Christian,” expressed Pass Christian School District Superintendent Dr. Carla Evers. “Her experience, passion for student-athletes, and commitment to excellence make her an outstanding fir for our school district.”
Previous Head Girls Basketball Coach Caroline Lumpkin departed March 29 for the same position at Pearl River Central High School after serving for 2 years.
