MGCCC CAMPUS (GG) — Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has once again been recognized for its strong support of the military community, earning the 2026-27 Military Friendly® School Gold designation and a Military Spouse Friendly® School Top 10 designation.
These honors reflect MGCCC’s continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
For 17 consecutive years, MGCCC has demonstrated a deep and lasting dedication to military-affiliated students. During that time, the college has achieved the No. 1 national ranking three times and has been named among the Top 10 Military Friendly® Schools six times. This consistent recognition highlights the college’s focus on student success, access, and support.
“These designations speak directly to our mission,” said Mary S. Graham, president of MGCCC. “We are proud to serve those who serve our country and their families. At MGCCC, we are intentional about creating pathways that are flexible, supportive, and responsive to the unique needs of our military community. Being recognized as both a Military Friendly®and Military Spouse Friendly® School affirms the work we do every day to help these students succeed.”
The annual Military Friendly® Schools and Military Spouse Friendly® Schools lists are compiled by G.I. Jobs Magazine, a publication of VIQTORY. Institutions are evaluated through a comprehensive, data-driven survey that measures key areas such as student retention, graduation rates, job placement, and financial support for military students.
MGCCC continues to stand out for its military-focused programs and services, including dedicated veterans’ services staff, flexible academic pathways with credit for military training, personalized financial aid guidance, and strong partnerships that support military families throughout the region.
The college’s continued recognition underscores its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of military-affiliated learners and ensuring they have the tools and support necessary to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
