GULFPORT (GG) — On Thursday, March 9, 2026, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eric Terrell Walker who resides in Gulfport, Mississippi on two felony counts of Aggravated Assault.  

According to Sheriff Matt Haley, Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of an assault and possible shooting in the area of Robinson Road in Gulfport. The victims reported they went to Walker’s residence to sell a pair of boots. Upon arriving at the residence, Walker exited his vehicle with a firearm and struck one victim on the head with the firearm.

The suspect then discharged the firearm at the vehicle, striking the second victim who was sitting inside the vehicle. Walker was located by county deputies at his residence and taken into custody. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  

Walker was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. Walker is being held in lieu of a $1,000,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Louise Ladner.  

Harrison County Sheriff Haley released a statement urging the public to use caution when selling items, meeting with citizens for the purpose of selling items and consider using a public location where other individuals will be present. Some businesses even have designated areas for exchanging items sold online that are in the public eye and covered by cameras in the event the exchange goes wrong.
