MGCCC CAMPUS (GG) — Alexander Mink is the third Mississippi Gulf Coast men’s soccer player to earn NJCAA All-American honors twice. He added the prize to his lengthy resume Tuesday, December 9 when the 33-man team was announced.

The sophomore midfielder from Long Beach earned a spot on the Third Team after another sensational season for the Bulldogs.

An NJCAA All-American last year as a defender, he tied for fourth in the MACCC with 16 goals while adding and a pair of assists. Mink had hat tricks against Georgia Military, Southwest Mississippi and East Mississippi.

“All the players who have done that here have gone on to have great four-year careers,” Gulf Coast coach Chris Handy said. “We definitely think he’s on that path to really make us proud of us at the next level. He was the leader of our team. As he went, we went. He’s a hard-nosed player, a great person. I’m proud that he’s being honored nationally again.”

Mink joins Jordan Hall (2016-17) and Hyungjoon Lee (2021-22) as repeat NJCAA All-Americans. Gulf Coast has had 12 NJCAA All-Americans since 1999.

Additionally,Mink repeated as United Soccer Coaches NJCAA Division II All-American last week. He was the only repeat winner on the Division II men’s team, having earned the honor as a freshman while he was playing defender. Mink is one of two MACCC selections for the squad.
