HARRISON COUNTY (GG) — On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is advising the public to be aware of an influx of scam callers acting as deputies of the HCSO.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has received multiple complaints this week in reference to scam calls requesting money from citizens for various reasons. The callers are claiming to be employees of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Sheriff Haley wants to remind the community the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office will at no time request money over the phone or request money through electronic platforms.
If you are contacted and need to verify information, please reach out to us, and do not send the requested money. If anyone has any information about these calls or if you have been a victim of this scam, please report it by calling 228-865-7060.
Additionally, due to anticipated cold weather conditions, one shelter will open in Harrison County this week.
