PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — In the days leading up to Halloween, Pass Christian High School turned its halls into the scene of an exciting mystery as students dove into a Clue-themed Red Ribbon Week celebration. Combining the national anti-drug campaign’s message of healthy living with a creative twist, the week’s theme—“Life is a Puzzle, Get a Clue, Solve It – Drug Free!”—challenged students to use their wits, teamwork, and school spirit to “crack the case.”
At the heart of the mystery stood Wadsworth, the school’s fictional butler and the week’s master of ceremonies. Each morning, students tuned in to the daily announcements to hear a new riddle from Wadsworth, slowly unraveling the puzzle of what the butler had witnessed after school hours. Students submitted their guesses throughout the week for a chance to win prizes, adding an extra layer of fun and friendly competition to the experience.
The interactive storyline engaged the entire student body as they tried to piece together clues and identify the culprit in this playful school-wide mystery. The creative Red Ribbon Week initiative aimed to promote drug-free choices in a memorable and hands-on way, reminding students that, much like solving a mystery, staying drug-free requires awareness, smart decisions, and support from friends and the community.
To keep the excitement going, each day featured a unique dress-up theme tied to the Clue motif:
- Monday: “Seeing Red” – Students kicked off the week by wearing red to symbolize their commitment to living drug-free and to represent the iconic red game piece from Clue. The school was filled with a sea of red as students proudly showed their support.
- Tuesday: “Partner in Crime (Twin Day)” – Students teamed up with their “partners in crime,” dressing alike to show that every good detective needs a reliable ally. From matching outfits to coordinated costumes, the halls buzzed with laughter and camaraderie.
- Wednesday: “Undercover Mode” – Disguises were the name of the game as students and staff went incognito in sunglasses, hats, and wigs. The mysterious energy around campus matched perfectly with the ongoing clues of the week’s riddle.
- Thursday: “Where Did It Happen?” Location Day – Participants chose their favorite school-inspired Clue location and dressed to match. The halls were full of creativity—students channeling administrators for “The Office,” musicians for “The Band Room,” teachers for “The Classroom,” and even athletes for “The Gym.” Each area of the school came alive with energy as everyone played their part in this interactive clue-inspired adventure.
- Friday: “Who Done It?” Clue Character Day – For the grand finale, students dressed as their favorite Clue characters or wore their signature colors. From Colonel Mustard’s golden hues to Miss Scarlet’s bold red, the campus was a colorful display of school spirit and detective flair.
By the end of the week, the mystery was finally solved—Wadsworth revealed that the mischievous culprit was none other than Professor Plum, who had been caught cooking up a batch of popcorn for the students. The mystery’s conclusion came with a delicious twist, as students were given a freshly popped treat during lunch on Friday, celebrating both their teamwork and their successful investigation.
The Clue-themed Red Ribbon Week proved to be more than just a spirit week—it was a memorable fusion of fun, creativity, and purpose. Through games, riddles, and themed activities, students learned that life’s challenges, like a mystery, can be solved with teamwork, critical thinking, and smart, drug-free choices.
Pass High’s unique spin on Red Ribbon Week left students not only entertained but inspired to continue piecing together the puzzle of living a healthy, positive, and drug-free life.
