BAY ST. LOUIS (GG) — Pass High Coach Jeff Stockstill gambled on scheduling a game against an excellent West Marion team on a Friday night when his team could have been on a bye week. Stockstill’s gamble paid off as the Pirates (9-1, 4-0) crushed rivals Bay High (0-9, 0-4) 48-0 in the annual Battle of the Bridge Thursday, October 30, 2025.

In their 73rd matchup between cross town rival, the Pass Christian High School Pirates have won four consecutive games against the Bay High Tigers (since a 20-17 Bay High win October 15, 2021).  Along with no scoring from the Tigers, Pass Christian defense had their third shutout for the first time since 1991 season.

Stockstill’s logic was that he didn’t like the way his team was playing down the stretch the previous year, and that a game against a good opponent was more important than a night off for his team. And the Pirates played lights out in a rivalry game that could have easily been a trap game against a winless Bay High team.

Instead, they destroyed the opposition and are undefeated Regional Champs for the first time. The Pirates are also headed to the playoffs with a Friday home game against South Pike.

“We did exactly what we needed to last Thursday, and that was to play well and carry the momentum into the playoffs, which start Friday.”

The victory over Bay High was standard Pass High ball — scoring on explosive offensive plays and fielding a smothering defense.

Quarterback Paris Trivillion was 12-26 for 207 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also had three rushing touchdowns, including hauls of 59 yards and 61 yards. Trivillion carried the ball six times and rushed for 182 yards.

The Pirates finding the endzone Thursday were Larkin Lewis, who had a 26-yard receiving touchdown; Cecil Lizanna, Dwight Thomas and Ryland Shoulders.  Trivillion was the team’s leading rusher at 182 yards, with Shoulders coming in second with 55 yards rushing. Moe James led the Pirates in rushing with three catches for 115 yards.

But Thursday’s blowout win is in the rearview mirror for Stockstill and the Pirates. Pass High, 9-1, will host a playoff game Friday at 7 p.m. against a tough 3-6 South Pike team.

“We got a difficult draw in the first round,” Stockstill said. “South Pike has a lot more size and speed than we do, so we will have to prepare ourselves for the challenge.”

This is the second time Pass High will play the South Pike.  Previously, the Eagles beat the Pirates 48-6 in the second round of the 2019 MHSAA 4A Playoffs after Pass High won their first playoff game in school history.
