LEAKESVILLE (GG) — As the saying goes, “Revenge is a dish best served cold.” Indeed it was Friday night, October 3 with the Pass Christian Pirates (5-1, 1-0) football team shutting out the lights for the Greene County Wildcats (4-2, 0-1) 28-14 in the first Region 8-4A matchup. Not only was this the third consecutive victory for the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 33-25 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
The first half was a stagnant 14-14 tie, but Pass High shut the door on the Wildcats crossing the goal line for the second half while putting in two scores of their own.
Pass Christian Quarterback Paris Trivillion rushed for 185 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 100 yards and one TD. Those 185 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecil, who rushed for 78 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pass Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That’s the most rushing yards they’ve managed all season.
As for Greene County, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season. Greene County’s defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gage Stinson, who rushed for 25 yards and one score, and also threw for 149 yards on ten of 15 attempts.
Defensively, Pass High Sophomore Defensive Back Brandon Laneaux led the team in overall (12) + solo (6) tackles and a TFL (tackle for loss). Senior Defensive Lineman Keegan Nix had 8 tackles, 1 sack while Stefen King, Jr. recovered a fumble forced by Cecil Lizana.
Pirates Statistics (after 6 games):
- Trivillion (QB) — 1195 yards passing, 498 yards rushing, 18 TDs passing, 4 TDs rushing

Despite having a 4-9 historical record against the upcoming opponent, Pass High will host Forrest County AHS at the Francis S. McDonald Stadium October 10, 2025 with an undefeated region record. Meanwhile, Forrest County Agricultural owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They managed a 6-0 victory over Moss Point. The six-point effort marked the Aggies’ lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn’t matter.
Forrest County Agricultural’s win bumped their record up to 4-2. Pass Christian couldn’t quite finish off Forrest County Agricultural when the teams last played back in September of 2022 and fell 34-31.
Friday’s game starts at 7pm.
