GULFPORT (GG) — On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year old Jamaro McNair who resides in Gulfport, Mississippi on two felony counts of Motor Vehicle Taking, one felony count of Burglary of a vehicle, one felony count of Directing or Causing a Youth to commit a Felony, one felony count of Failure to Stop Motor Vehicle when Officer Signals, and one felony count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm. 

According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle at a residence on Roundhill Drive in Gulfport.  Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that Jamaro McNair arrived in the  neighborhood in a stolen vehicle from Three Rivers Landing in Gulfport.

J. McNair had a juvenile with him when he burglarized a vehicle in the Roundhill Subdivision before stealing another vehicle from that same neighborhood. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle when it was located on I-10 traveling westbound. J. McNair failed to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle eventually stopped on County Farm Road when the battery died. J. McNair was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm when he was taken into custody. The juvenile that was with J. McNair was also charged with Burglary of a vehicle and Motor Vehicle Taking.  The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Detention. 

Jamaro Jonathan McNair was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility in Gulfport, Mississippi and charged with two felony counts of Motor Vehicle Taking, one felony count of Burglary of a  vehicle, one felony count of Directing or Causing a Youth to commit a Felony, one felony count of Failure to Stop Motor Vehicle when Officer Signals, and one felony count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The suspect is being held in lieu of a $210,000 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge Theressia Lyons.
