MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST (GG) — Beginning Monday, August 18, 2025, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) Licensing Office will temporarily relocate to the MDMR’s Pass Christian Check Station, located at 104 South Market Street in Pass Christian.
The MDMR Licensing Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. To contact the Licensing Office, call 228-374-5000.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources certified a conventional tackle state saltwater fishing record for the month of August at the meeting Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Brandon Hogue of Kiln set the record for Conger Eel (Conger oceanicus) with a fish weighing 30 pounds, 2.24 ounces.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
