BILOXI (GG) —On July 17th, the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce awarded $31,500 in grants, recognized some outstanding  public and military service members, and unveiled the 44th Annual Biloxi Seafood Festival poster.

During Breakfast with the Mayor, four outstanding service people were recognized for their service to the community. Biloxi Police Officer Major Larry Murphy, Biloxi Firefighter Battalion Chief Rodney Strickler, Keesler Air Force Base SrA Zaniyah Eaddy, and Julie Butler, RN.

The Biloxi Chamber awarded $20,000 in small business grants with Woodforest National Bank sponsoring a additional $2,000 in honor of Carmelita J. Scott and Trustmark National Bank sponsoring an additional $1,000. Re-occupancy grant winners received $2,000 each, thanks to matching funds from the Greater Biloxi Economic Development Foundation, and $500 was awarded to a local non-profit. A complete list of all winners is below.

The winner of the 44th Annual Biloxi Seafood Festival poster contest was Kaitlyn Brewer a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and Gulf Coast native whose art reflects the beauty of Coastal Mississippi. Growing up kayaking, fishing, and sketching, she developed a strong connection to the area that continues to inspire her work.

She’s proud to have her piece, Seafood and Spirit, represent the 44th Annual Biloxi Seafood Festival. The illustration features shrimp boats, fresh seafood, and local landmarks— celebrating Biloxi’s seafood traditions and coastal spirit.

Thank you to our sponsors, especially our host Hard Rock Biloxi, and our series sponsors Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Hancock Whitney and Harrison County Development Commission. The Biloxi Chamber is grateful for the support and dedication of our partners and the Biloxi community.

Together, we celebrate and preserve our vibrant seafood industry.
