PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — For the last three years Mississippi has now become a reality with the state’s first Buc-ee’s grand opening Monday, June 10, 2025 in Pass Christian.
In 2022, Harrison County officials confirmed the popular Texas-based travel center would be created in rural Pass Christian and the community counted down the days that they would be able to indulge in all of the various offerings.
“When I look at this facility, it’s one hell of a general store,” said Dr. Marlin Ladner, District 3 (Pass Christian, Long Beach) Supervisor. “There were so many people involved in developing this travel center and I thank my fellow board of supervisors that provided the funds for this overpass, so we could get this group over here.”
Mississippi’s 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s includes 120 fueling positions and 24 Electronic Vehicle (EV) charging stations for motorists. Being the world’s largest gas station, none of Buc-ee’s franchises offer gas pumps for 18-wheelers.

“We started the stores on Interstate 10 as our first store was here 22 years ago,” expressed founder & owner Arch “Beaver” Aplin. “We think this makes so much sense with our other stores close by and had a warm welcome from our Mississippi leaders. We want to have over 200 high paying jobs in our local community and an incredible experience. We’re very excited about this location in Mississippi.”
The Pass Christian Buc-ee’s is open 24 hours per day and 365 days a year, meaning every day motorists, and holiday travelers alike, will have somewhere to stop at any given moment. The new store is located at 8245 Firetower Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi.
