GULFPORT (GG) — On Tuesday morning, May 6, 2025, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel James Brown on two felony charges of Robbery plus Use of a Deadly Weapon and Octavia Jermaine Winters on the felony charges Robbery; Use of a Deadly Weapons, Burglary, Motor Vehicle Theft, and Aggravated Assault. Both suspects are residents of Gulfport, Mississippi.
On March 31, 2025, Harrison County Deputies responded to Cypress Bayou Drive in reference to two individuals assaulting one victim with a machete, tying the two victims up inside the home, and stealing multiple items and a vehicle from the residence. The victim’s vehicle was later located on Dedeaux Road in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Through the investigation, a cellphone was located at the scene that was found to be left behind by one of the suspects. The suspect was then able to be identified, and Octavia Winters was arrested on April 3, 2025. At the time of his arrest, Winters was also found to be on Federal Probation.
Harrison County Investigators arrested Daniel Brown on Thursday, May 1, 2025. It was found through the course of the investigation that Brown was on scene at the time of the robbery with Winters.
Winters was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on the charges of Robbery; Use of a Deadly Weapon, Motor Vehicle Theft, Aggravated Assault, and Burglary. Winters was issued a $625,000 bond by Justice Court Judge L. Ladner. The suspect also had a hold placed by Federal Probation for U.S. Marshals.
Brown was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on the charge of Robbery; Use of a Deadly Weapon. Brown was issued a $500,000 bond by Justice Court Judge L. Ladner.
