PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — On Monday, April 28, 2025, the Pass Christian Police Department arrested Brett Huntley Keel for Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence in reference to the death of Joyce Gomez from Pass Christian. Harrison County Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set the suspect’s bond at $1,500,000.
“This is still an ongoing and active investigation,” expressed Pass Christian Police Chief Daren Freeman after a release. “If the public has any information about this incident, please contact Captain Ryan Henry at (228) 363-6038 or the MS Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.”
Law enforcement requested the public’s assistance Sunday morning in locating Joyce Gomez, 38, who was last seen on Friday in nearby Bay St. Louis.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office confirmed later Sunday, April 27, 2025 that the body of a missing Pass Christian woman was discovered, and foul play was suspected. The sheriff’s office and coroner confirmed it was Gomez.
According to authorities, foul play was initially suspected in the disappearance of Gomez. This led investigators to the location of her body.
The Pass Christian Police Department asks everyone to continue to pray for the family and friends of Joyce Gomez.
