LONG BEACH (GG) — On Thursday, April 24th, 2025, officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to the area of Arbor Station Drive, regarding a call of two men breaking into vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested Devin C. Roper of Long Beach and Rendell M. Haynes of Gulfport. Two other individuals fled on foot.

After further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle occupied by Roper and Haynes had been involved in burglaries committed in an April 21 incident on Beatline Road. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two firearms that had been stolen in previous burglaries, burglary tools, and a small amount of marijuana.

Further investigation led to the identification of two juveniles who were also arrested.  Roper and Haynes were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport, Mississippi being charged with 7 counts of vehicle burglary, 1 count of possession of burglary tools, 1 count of attempted vehicle burglary, and possession of marijuana. 

Roper and Haynes are being held on bonds totaling $450,000.00 set by Justice Court Judge Theressia Lyons. The two juveniles involved in the burglaries were transported to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center also.

The Long Beach Police Department was assisted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, Harrison County Narcotics Task Force, and Gulfport Police Narcotics Division.
