PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — On February 23, 2025, Lane Thompson accepted the call from First Baptist Church in Pass Christian, as their new pastor. Pastor Thompson came to First Baptist Church from Chestnut Creek Baptist Church in Verbena, Alabama, where he was licensed to the ministry for preaching and pastoring since October 14, 2012.
Pastor Thompson graduated from Hueytown High School in Hueytown, Alabama and obtained his Master of Theology Degree from Antioch Bible College in Marietta, Georgia. The pastor his wife, Mary, and their 10-year-old son, Jaxson, relocated to Pass Christian in December 2022 so he could seek opportunities “To serve God with a faithful passion as a full-time Senior Pastor in a Southern Baptist Church;” and to pursue personal business interest.
The First Baptist Church in Pass Christian has recently installed a Carillon Bell System that can be heard each Sunday morning at 9:45am, calling all who will, to come to Sunday School and, again at 10:45am, calling worshipers to Worship Service that starts at 11:00 a.m. The bells also chime each day at 12 noon and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Pastor Thompson and the entire congregation at First Baptist, reiterate the invitation these bells chime out, for all who will, to join the church for worship services each Sunday, and for Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.
