LONG BEACH (GG) — The City of Long Beach was scheduled to begin the Railroad Crossing Grade Improvements Project on Monday, March 3rd. This project will involve improvements to nine railroad crossings across the city and is expected to take several months to complete. The work at each crossing will have a specific start date and duration.

- Girard Crossing
- Start Date: June 10th, Duration: 7 days
- Trautman Crossing
- Start Date: June 12th, Duration: 7 days
- Island View Crossing
- Start Date: June 17th, Duration: 11 days
- South Lang Crossing
- Start Date: July 7th, Duration: 10 days
- White Harbor Crossing
- Start Date: July 14th, Duration: 14 days

Additionally, Ward 5 municipal candidate Mike Bohlke officially withdrew from the Republican primary Thursday, February 27, 2025. Currently, the seat is held by Alderman Mike Brown, who has officially announced retirement. Three candidates have entered in the Republican primary for the vacancy, which will be chosen April 1, 2025. The candidates are: Greg Bonds, Barbara Kimball, and Clifford Yeomans.
