LONG BEACH (GG) — On Friday, January 3, 2025, the Long Beach Police Department arrested Debarren Johnson and a 16-year-old juvenile, both of Gulfport, and charged both suspects with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault and 2 counts of Shooting into a Building each.
The arrest stems from an incident where Johnson and the juvenile suspect chased another vehicle while shooting a firearm at the vehicle, striking the vehicle and injuring an occupant. Johnson and the juvenile also hit businesses within the city while firing at the vehicle at East Railroad Street in Long Beach.
Johnson and the juvenile were both captured by Gulfport Police Department who stopped and detained them in a separate incident.
Both Johnson and the juvenile were transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport and incarcerated on a $100,000 bond for each charge set by Justice Court Judge Nick Patano pending further court action.
