LONG BEACH (GG) — The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Breakfast with Mayor George Bass of the City of Long Beach was held on October 15th, 2024, at the University of Southern Mississippi, Gulf Park Campus in the Hardy Hall Ballroom.
Before the awards were presented, Bass announced he will not run for the mayor seat in the 2025 municipal elections.
First Responders of the Year Awards were presented, as well as Public Works Employee of the Year and the Aline Doherty Citizen of the Year Award.
- Detective Destin Guillot received the 2024 Police Officer of the Year
- Cody Carroll received the 2024 Firefighter of the Year
- Brittney Tillson received the 2024 AMR Personnel of the Year
- Jennifer Fitchie received the 2024 Public Works of the Year Award.
- 2024 Aline Doherty Citizen of the Year Award went to Quentin Denney, Animal Control Officer with the Long Beach Police Department. This award is presented annually to a resident or business owner of Long Beach, who through the commitment to the community and through the spirit of volunteerism, has improved the quality of life in Long Beach and the Gulf Coast.
