GULFPORT (GG) — On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew Betancourt on one felony count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Jodi Klubnik was also arrested in relation to this incident and charged with one felony count of Providing False Information of a Sex Offender to Law Enforcement and one felony count of Harboring a Sex Offender in Violation. Both suspects were from Gulfport, Mississippi.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, county investigators and the US Marshals Task Force responded to Jefferson Avenue in Gulfport to serve an arrest warrant on Andrew Betancourt. Upon arrival, Investigators and the Marshals Task Force contacted Betancourt’s mother, Jodi Klubnik.
Klubnik stated her son did not live at the residence and she was uncooperative with Law Enforcement on scene. Investigators and the Marshals Task Force entered the residence and located Betancourt hiding under a bed.
Betancourt was taken into custody for his warrant and was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport. Investigators later obtained warrants on Klubnik and arrested her.
Betancourt is being held in lieu of a $25,000 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge Theressia Lyons. Klubnik is being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge L. Ladner.
