GULFPORT (GG) — On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office arrested a fourteen-year-old  juvenile on a felony charge of Murder (Second Degree). 

According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, on Sunday, at approximately 2:30pm the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Robindale Road in Gulfport for a reported shooting. After arrival, a sixteen-year-old male was found in the street with one gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim was subsequently airlifted to University of South Alabama (USA) Children’s Hospital in Mobile, Alabama for treatment.

Upon further investigation, it was determined a fist fight occurred between the suspect and victim which resulted in the victim being shot. USA Children’s Hospital advised that the  victim succumbed to their injuries in their facility as direct result of this altercation. 

The fourteen-year-old was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility and charged with Murder (Second Degree). The juvenile suspect is being held in lieu of a $1,000,000 dollar bond set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
