Heavy Rainfall and Severe Weather Threat Throughout Wednesday

Gazebo Gazette

A marginal risk of severe weather and excessive rainfall exists today over the entire forecast area. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this morning and this afternoon. Storms could linger into evening hours.

A few storms could become severe with gusty winds being the main threat. Heavy rainfall will also be possible as we expect slow moving storms to train over areas. These storms will have the capability to produce 1 to 3 inch per hour rainfall rates.

Rainfall of 1 to 1.5 inches is expected on average over the area.

  • Locally higher amounts will be possible.
  • Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour possible
  • Locally heavy rainfall will likely lead to ponding of water in low lying areas and areas of poor drainage, and some flash flooding will be possible in the areas that receive the most rainfall.
  • A few isolated severe thunderstorms possible with gusty winds being the main threat
