At the Harrison County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Thursday afternoon in Gulfport, county Emergency Management Director Rupert Lacy said, “everyone needs to document in the case of federal emergency materials” for the upcoming fall of Tropical Storm Barry. Further, Lacy expressed the federal agents will not move forward with any application unless paper materials for needs and resources are provided.
According to the Harrison County Public Information Officer (PIO) Jeff Clark, the Board of Supervisors released a proclamation Thursday morning to Governor Phil Bryant asking for a declaration of emergency as Hurricane Barry moves closer to through the Gulf of Mexico.
This declaration will allow Harrison County to receive assets and assistance from the state and federal levels. The Gazebo Gazette will provide upcoming details on the conditions and locations of the storm.
