Pass Christian Mayor Leo “Chipper” McDermott and Reverend Kyle Bennett of Trinity Episcopal Church signed a $1 per year lease agreement on Wednesday for the location of the Trinity Dog Park in The Pass on the church property. Reverend Bennett offered just over an acre on the northwest section of the church’s property for the dog park initiative.
This lease agreement lifts a major financial burden from the Trinity Dog Park in The Pass committee, which will allow them to focus on fundraising for fencing, water fountains, etc. In attendance from the Trinity Dog Park Committee were: Ms. Mary Bourdin (Chair), Dr. Jennifer Hendrick of Live Oak Animal Hospital, Mr. Gary Smith and Ms. Patty DeMetz.
The canine representative was Douglas “Dougie” MacArther who represented future dogs that will use the dog park.
