In another unexpected turn of events, Pass Christian Main Street suffers another resignation. Mary-Catherine Scriber, Main Street Events Coordinator resigned after just four months on the job.
Scriber issued this statement to the Gazebo Gazette, ‘’I’m a very results oriented person with a successful track record who looks forward to help move the City of Pass Christian forward in other ways. I wish Main Street all the best’’.
This resignation comes on the heels of resignations from several Main Street Board members. In a recent conversation with Pass Christian Mayor Leo ‘’Chipper’’ McDermott, he stated his frustration with the huge turnover of Pass Christian Main Street personnel since it’s inception in 2011. In the last three years alone at least three people have come and gone as either the Main Street Director or Events Coordinator.
Furthermore after years of financial support, the City of Pass Christian recently decided to end it’s ties with Main Street. Although historically Main Street has provided support to such highly successful programs as Art in the Pass, Jazz in the Pass as well as several other programs, several sources have reported that Main Street has been struggling internally for at least the past six months.
