After conducting interviews and advertisement for the position, Tuesday evening the Pass Christian Board of Aldermen appointed Daren Freeman as the Police Chief for the department at their monthly meeting.  The previous police chief, Timothy Hendricks announced his eventual retirement at the end of June.  Freeman was acting as the interim police chief, as Hendricks was out of town for personal reasons.

Freeman was hired as deputy police chief for the Pass Christian Police Department in November 2017 after resignation from the Bay St. Louis Police Department from January to September 2017.  Previously, Freeman was on the Mississippi Highway Patrol from 1994-2017.

“I would like to establish friendly events, such  as flag football, dodgeball, and cook-offs between the community and Law Enforcement agencies,” said Freeman about building the relationships between the public and department.  “These events will allow the City to benefit from the additional resources with no added cost.”
