At 11:13 am Sunday, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR) recovered the body of 17-year old Carson Hall from Hattiesburg near West Ship Island.  Once the body was brought in and reviewed, the Harrison County Coroner’s Office ruled the death to be an accidental drowning.

According to official reports, Hall jumped off a yacht and landed front side, knocking the air out of his body.  By the time members of the boat noticed Hall was not there, his body had sunk.

The official call to DMR and the U.S. Coast Guard was made Saturday afternoon at 1:23 pm.  Family and friends of Hall have been notified, according to the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.

Hall was a 2019 graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hattiesburg.
