Thursday, May 16 the drowning of an 18-year old Long Beach High School Senior William Taylor Henson occurred on the Wolf River after being pulled under the currents while swimming with a friend under the Bells Ferry Bridge.

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson stated that a search by water was conducted by members of the Sheriff’s office, Harrison County Fire Department, Department of Marine Resources, Pass Christian Police Department and the Gulfport Police Department.  The agency used every tool at their disposal to find the victim, including side scan sonar, drones, and rescue dogs.

The body was found at 9:30pm Thursday night by authorities in the area as the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
