Tuesday night’s softball was dominated heavily from the mound and base by Long Beach at Marlin Ladner Field. The Lady Bearcats (9-8, 5-0) pushed their undefeated streak in district play by beating up on the Stone Lady Tomcats 8-0.

Long Beach Sophomore Ace Kayleigh Garrett threw five shutout innings, allowing one hit and tossing eight strikeouts. The Lady Bearcats Freshman Katelyn Schroeder came in to put the finishing touch in the last two innings with no hits and a strikeout.

The Lady Bearcats collected eight hits, two walks, and reached base on two errors. Long Beach Freshman Jordon Tillman reached base three times and scored two runs. Junior Catcher Maddy Morgan and Mackenzie Fleming each also had two hits, but the Senior drove in two runs.

Senior Long Beach players Faith Peterson, Juniors Allie Dubuisson and Morgan each knocked around an extra-base hit.
