With an exception of one match Monday afternoon, the Pass Christian Pirates tennis team cleaned the house of the Picayune Maroon Tide 6-1 at the Leo Seal Tennis Complex in Pass Christian.

Both singles matches were won easily in two sets by Kal Lizana for the Pass boys and the  Lady Pirates returning state tournament competitor Alejandra Rodriguez.

In the varsity boys Pirates doubles 1 team Yash Patel and Kendrick Lowery cruised to victory while the boys 2 was picked up by Pass players Luke Meyer and Carlos Roman.  Similarly, Lady Pirates Girls 1 doubles Ella McCoy and Cedar McCarthy knocked off their opponent and the Pass Girls 2 doubles team Han Nguyen and Van Troung pushed the Lady Tide off the plank.

Pass High’s Mixed Doubles Team between Brad Vo and Grace Lawing were the only group that were not victorious.

“Our team has been dominating the courts this year, especially the junior varsity,” said Pass Christian Tennis Coach Lynette Cooper.  “This is demonstrating some promising talent.

The Pirates next match is Wednesday afternoon against Hancock.
Currently, Pass Christian’s Tennis team record is 5-3, as they defeated Bay High, East Central, West Harrison, Moss Point, and Picayune.  Their three losses came against St. Stanislaus/Our Lady Academy, Vancleave, and Biloxi.
