For the 12th Annual Bearcats Classic, the Girls of Long Beach and Pass Christian high schools dominated the competition at Lumpkin Magee Field Thursday afternoon.

As Long Beach hosted the event, the Lady Bearcats easily won with 207 points and by earning 10 first-place victories in their events.  The Lady Pirates finished second and won of their three events.

The Pass Christian Pirates boys team finished a close third with 126 points, only 9 points from first place and won 2 of their events.  Even though the Bearcats won 2 events, they finished a distant sixth.

Returning State Champion Phenom’s Brooklyn Biancamano of the Long Beach Lady Bearcats and Kamdyn Skinner of Pass Christian’s Lady Pirates both easily won two individual events for their teams.

Skinner won the Girls High Jump with a leap of 5’2 and the triple jump with a finish of 32’1.  Biancamano lapped the field with a run of 5:19.39 in the 1600-meter and edged out Skinner’s sister; Kealey, to win the 800-meter with 2:26.77.

The Lady Bearcats Destini and Muonie Pickens won multiple events also in the competition.  Destini finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.42 and the 400-meter dash, as the only one with a time under a minute at a time of 57.04.

Muonie easily won the 100-meter dash in the time of 13.21 and 300-meter hurdles in a finish of 49.78.

Pass High’s Damonta May placed in three events, winning the triple jump on a leap of 42’4.5 and a close third place finish in the 100 and 200-meter races.

Next event for Long Beach is on Thursday at Biloxi for the Sabatini Relays while Pass Christian will race in Petal on Tuesday, April 2.
