The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Tuesday. Estimated temperature in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Potential duration of this weather is from 6 to 10 hours across southwest Mississippi and the northern Florida Parishes. 3 to 6 hours along the I-20/12 corridor. Due to recent warm temperatures, much of the area’s vegetation has begun to grow again. Sensitive plants may be damaged by the freeze.
A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Please remember to protect people, pets, and plants from the cold.
