In a short special called meeting Tuesday night at the central office for the Long Beach School District, the School Board unanimously accepted the bid for bond sale.  The Long Beach School Board granted the contract to RW Baird after approving the bond sale.

According to the School Board Attorney Jim Simpson, an adoption of two resolutions were needed for the bond acceptance.  The first was approving the bid for sale and the other being an update of annual tax filings with the Securities & Exchange Commission for the school district.

Following this approval, Simpson will go before the Mississippi Second District Chancery Court to provide the passage of the resolutions for the school bond.  On March 5, the bond money ($20 million) will be sent to the account of the Long Beach School District.

In other action, the school board approved the claims docket and set the next regular meeting date for February 20, 2019.
