The Friendly City and others turned out to celebrate Mardi Gras Saturday night in Long Beach. Long Beach Carnival Association was the festive host, where floats traveled throughout the downtown area.
A festive Long Beach High School Bearcats Band kicked off the festivities and set the tone for the parade. Kids of all ages cheered on a diverse set of floats and numerous Krewes rewarded the crowd with beads from colors across the spectrum plus sizes. Additionally, plenty of moon pies, glow sticks and toys for all ages were thrown.
The Long Beach Carnival Association hosted its 59th Coronation Ball last Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School. Chris Boudreaux and Kelly Hartfield Griffin were crowned King & Queen for the Long Beach Parade, as music entertainment was provided by Top Cats!
