Long Beach’s annual water-less boat parade lit up the Friendly City, as a number of boats were designed with Christmas lights and threw beads. A few other boats tossed Christmas souvenirs with the streets packed on both sides.
“We have a stage setup to announce the owners of the boats, as they pass through,” said Long Beach Mayor George Bass. “Boats from all over the coast participate and good music will be played after.”
The Long Beach High School Band followed the patrol cars, delivering Christmas tunes from the high school all the way to Harper McCaughan Town Green.
